Getting groceries hasn’t been easy. Working from home hasn’t been easy. In fact, we might all feel that life hasn’t been easy. Although this may be true one thing that shouldn’t be hard right now is banking.
Instead of worrying about trips to the bank, start utilizing some of these easy ways to bank from home. They’ll keep you safe, make your life easier, and take one more weight off your shoulders.
Online & Mobile Banking
First and foremost, setting up online and mobile banking (if you don’t already have it), is an absolute must. This helps you have the ability to bank on the go, so you don’t have to rely on telephone banking or visiting a branch to do a transaction.
Most financial institutions offer both mobile and online banking services which are great for reviewing account balances, transferring funds, paying bills and overall account management. They’re easy to set up and most of the time all you need is to create a secure login and password. For TFCU specifically, you’ll need your account number and four-digit online banking pin to enroll in online banking.
Mobile Deposit
Between tax returns and stimulus checks, you might find yourself needing to deposit a check. Instead of making a trip to the branch or ATM to make a deposit, try taking advantage of mobile deposits. All you have to do is login to your mobile banking app, snap a picture of the front and back of the check, verify how much you’re depositing and hit submit.
Note: Don’t forget to write “For Mobile Deposit at TFCU” on the back of your check.
Bill Pay
How often have you had to make a trip over to the city building to pay the water bill or needed to give your landlord rent? With bill pay you can organize and schedule your bills for when they are due.
The benefit of using bill pay is that it streamlines payments and helps to avoid incurring late fees. For example, instead of visiting each individual website of where you have bills due, you simply can organize it all within online or mobile banking. All you will need is payment information such as account number and address to where you want your funds to go and that’s it.
Transfer Funds
Sometimes you have to move some money around, that’s a very normal thing to do in today’s world, but instead of calling , visiting a branch or using a mobile payment app (such as Zelle or Venmo) you can do this quickly from anywhere with online or mobile banking.
Transferring funds is easy, all you have to do is choose the accounts you’re transferring money to and from, verify how much, and complete the transfer. With most financial institutions you can also transfer funds to make payments on things such as auto loans, home loans or credit cards that you have with the same institution, which makes managing money even easier.
Online Account Opening & Applications
Opening or applying for things such as checking and savings accounts, credit cards, auto loans, home loans, business loans, and personal loans may be a little different now. Some institutions have limited branch services or require appointments to either open accounts or apply for loans, however all these things can be done online or from a mobile app.
To help speed up this process check with your financial institution to see what documents are needed before you apply and do it all from your computer, phone, or tablet.
With all these easy ways to bank at home, virtually the only thing you’ll ever need to visit a branch for is an ATM. Many financial institutions, including Tropical, understand that leaving the house is stressful right now, which is why we’ve made it a mission to help South Florida have an easy experience all from the comfort of their couch.
