This Thanksgiving, We Have Much to Appreciate

,

This Thanksgiving, we are grateful to be part of the South Florida community and to have the many opportunities to support residents and community groups.

Community is at the heart of everything we do at Tropical Financial Credit Union. Whether it’s donating to a cause or volunteering time, we believe in the power of giving back and making a positive impact where it matters most. While we do not do it for the accolades, we are proud that our outreach was recognized this year by the South Florida Business Journal and media within our credit union industry.

Our goal is to support a broad number of causes that represent the interests and values of our employees and members. With that in mind, this year, we were privileged to support the following:

  • Took part in the 39th Annual International Coastal Cleanup in Broward County to help keep our beaches and waterways clean.
  • Spread mid-summer cheer to the children in Broward County by celebrating Christmas in July with them.
  • Participated as a Friend Sponsor of the Annual White Cane Day Walk and commemorated the 95 years that the Miami Lighthouse has provided services to the blind and visually impaired.
  • Sponsored the Wilton Manors Stonewall Pride, celebrating its community and pride.
  • Volunteered for the American Red Cross’ “Sound the Alarm” program, alongside other local companies, by installing free smoke alarms for 165 families in Tamarac.
  • Supported Channel 10’s annual Big Bus Toy Express which donates Christmas toys to underprivileged kids through the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys for Tots program.
  • Supported the Engage Leadership Conference and Summer Jobs Miami Connect program, which provides opportunities for growth and development for the next generation.
  • Awarded scholarships to three students who are members of Tropical Financial– two high school students entering college and a non-traditional student.
  • Sponsored an event that benefits “Pooches in the Pines,” a police department program that helps reunite lost dogs in Pembroke Pines with their owners.
  • Sponsored and participated in the Broward Humane Society’s annual Walk for the Animals.

We could not do what we do without the support of members. Year after year, they open their hearts and wallets for things like hurricane relief efforts or to buy a toy for a child who might otherwise go without during Christmas. And while our members show up big when needed, we are also proud to serve them and their financial goals on a daily basis. That is our passion and mission. That is the spirit of a credit union.

We wish all of you and your families a Happy Thanksgiving!
