We asked some local bikers, what types of things beginners should know before buying a motorcycle in Miami. After sitting down they came up with 4 unique things they wish someone would have told them before they bought their first bike. If you’re on the hunt for your first motorcycle in Miami check out some things you’ll want to know.

Type of Bike Affects the Price

Don’t assume the price of the bike is the only cost you'll incur.  Just like a car, there’s more costs associated with your purchase than what you pay upfront. For example, if you’re looking into street bikes for sale in Miami the insurance you’ll pay on it in some cases will be higher than you would pay on something like a cruiser. Why? Some bikes are more of a risk than others.

...So Does Paint Color

It’s a known fact that different hues of red car paint will cost you more depending on the situation, so we wanted to find out if this was true for bikes too. This is a fair question for beginners to ask, especially if you're a young biker on a budget and according to a study the answer is yes. Colors that red are also used in will tend to cost a little more compared to black as well. Our recommendation is to take this into consideration if you're on a budget and a motorcycle isn't your main mode of transportation.

MPG & Fuel Capacity

Depending on the manufacturer, model or year of  your bike it may or may not have a fuel gauge, which is why it’s important to know your bike’s MPG and fuel capacity before you buy. Ever hear of a Sunday drive? It's a big deal in the motorcycle world, which is why you'll want to know how long you can go before filling up.

Local Riding Laws

It’s important to know Florida motorcycle laws and know that these laws vary from state to state. Before you take your motorcycle out for its first ride be sure you have all the proper requirements such as a Florida Motorcycle Endorsement or Motorcycle Only License. In order to receive the endorsement or license riders must complete a Florida Rider Program.
