Meet Magaly M. She's part of our Loan Servicing Team at Tropical. 

• How long have you been working at TFCU? 18 years
• What’s a little unknown fact about you? I love to travel, play golf and anything Fleur de Lis.
• Starbucks or Dunkin? Starbucks 
• Which tropical island would you visit? Maldives 
• South Florida native or transplant? If a transplant where are you from originally? I was born in Ecuador raised in New York City.
• What does working at TFCU mean to you? It’s been the best decision I made. Working at TFCU has taught me a lot and I am very grateful for all the experiences and opportunities that I have gained throughout the years. I have worked in different departments and I have gained experience in many levels. It is very rewarding to be able to assist our members and co-workers. I am full of gratitude for this wonderful journey in my life.
• What’s your most memorable member story? I love to help people and see how happy and excited they get when we can help them through the worst financial situation that can happen to them. When the economy went to the all-time low in 2010 my member lost her job and only the husband was working; they have 5 children, the oldest was 17 years old and the youngest was 6 months. They were not able to pay their monthly debts on time and it was affecting their credit. Not to mention the house situation with having to care for, feed and house a family of 7. All the kids had to be homeschooled since it was more affordable for the mom to stay home and care for the kids rather than to have them go to after care or hire a babysitter. The elders helped the smaller ones and they were able to accommodate. Our member had 3 loans with Tropical FCU and we were able to assist the family with their loans, we helped them by using loan work-outs, extensions and even waived some fees. They qualified for home modifications and though it took them a few months to get back on track, they were able to get back on their feet and keep their autos but most importantly their home. It is such an amazing feeling to be able to assist our members and for them to be so thankful that somebody is there to listen to their situation, understand and assist with what is needed to accomplish a great outcome.
